Shehnaz Ganai meets Governor | KNO

Jammu, March 01 (KNO) : Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, former MLC met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here on Friday. Ganai apprised Governor about the hardships being faced by people living along the LoC and IB due to cross border firing and requested for expediting construction of community and individual bunkers, compensation to people and livestock injured due to cross border firing, adequate availability of medicines and healthcare facilities, provision of bullet proof critical care ambulances, free ration/kerosene for affected people and setting up of 24x7 Helpline. She also requested for sanctioning a special economic/employment package for the people living near LoC/IB, early completion of offsite campus of Jammu University at Dingla and other languishing road Roads and Bridges projects, sanctioning of a special package under Border Area Development Programme for establishment of Modern Cluster villages along LoC, and allotment of 5 marlas of land to people living near LoC/IB. Governor assured Ganai due consideration of her demands and urged her to work relentlessly for public welfare.(KNO)
